Es gibt nur ein Original, und das brodelt seit 1993 in Berlin. DJ Robert Soko hat seinen Zigeunerpunk schon gebürstet, als man sich auf dem Balkan noch gegenseitig die Köpfe einschlug.DJ Robert Soko bietet einen mitreissenden Mix aus Ska, Gipsy und Tribal der zum Abtauchen, Mitsingen, sich vergessen und Tanzen verlockt.Neuinterpretationen, Kultsongs und aktuelle Erscheinungen ergeben eine gelungene Mischung aus treibenden Beats und traditionellen Elementen der unterschiedlichen Kulturräume vom Balkan. Ein unvergessliches Tanzerlebnis in einmaliger Atmosphäre ist garantiert!
Nach 8 Jahren des Exils in Berlin Mitte, ist die Mutter aller Balkanpartys mit Pauken und Trompeten zurück nach Hause, zurück nach Kreuzberg gekommen...natürlich ins LIDO!
Wer schon einmal dabei war, weiss, dass hier die Nacht zum Tag, und Kreuzberg zum Balkan gemacht wird!
Was Robert Soko (DJ Soko) im Berlin-Kreuzberger Underground begann, ist längst eine etablierte Stilmarke und ein Partygarant unter Kennern und Liebhabern. Inzwischen braust diese verrückte Musik nicht nur durch den gesamten Westen, sondern auch zurück auf den Balkan, wo sie wieder mutiert und zurück gespült wird. So gebiert das Phänomen Balkanbeats immer spektakulärere Kombinationen. Anything goes: Bläser treiben es mit Europop, Dudelsack pumpt mit Rock, Klezmer groovt mit Electro, Bregovic tanzt mit Carmen und einige der schönsten Balkan-Songs kommen plötzlich aus Frankreich ... Warum auch nicht? Letztendlich ist es egal, ob das nun Indie heißt oder gar Weltmusik. Hauptsache, es rockt!
Since her first babysteps at Mundo Canibal @ Apolo, Barcelona she took the floor with
storm !!!
From day one she has comparted stage as resident side by side with la diosa del mestizo DJ Mamaye @ Canibal Soundsystem.
After five years working as a sound engineer for bands and dj´s she has seen it all, how to control a crowd, how to amaze with a different selection, how to bring the audience on the journey she sees making everybody feel and sense the music in a way never seen from dj´s. Including a spectacular dance show and personal contact with the audience here is a dj who offers more than just good music and skills on the decks!!!
Her musical background is multicolored having been brought up with Fania All Stars in her childhome, she eventually turned towards the gypsy touch after working with Fanfare Ciocarlia, where she was blown away with the nerve, love and energy of the gypsy touch. Exactly the energy and love for the music shines thru in her sessions where she mix up all gypsy music from Rajastan to south Spain with electronic grooves and fat basslines. But always with an open mind towards other genres, such as funk, afro and obviously some latin touch ;)
Now just 2 and a half after she has demonstrated her enourmous potential around dancefloors in europe. Copenhagen where she holds a monthly residence alongside Al Lindrum as “Alberta in Love” at main club VEGA. Zsiget Festival, etnosur festival, roskilde festival , global dancefloor festival . And parties like balkan stylee , balkanbeats paris , balkan beats budapest , mundo canibal , playground , el plata , etc ..
