Für diese Gelegenheit wurden zwei wahre Legenden eingeladen: Dr Nele Karajlić, Sänger des NO SMOKING ORCHESTRA von Emir Kusturica, sowie der türkische Rapper Sultan Tunc. Multilingual - International - Sexy!

“This album is an homage to the culture-recycling spirit of the BalkanBeats scene, in its worldwide parties and beyond. Most of the songs are BBSS´s own creation produced from scratch at the BalkanBeats Studio in Berlin, but there are also a few revamped tracks from pioneers of the genre, such as Fanfare Ciocarlia and Dr Nele Karajlić (No Smoking Orchestra).Though heavily flavoured with Balkan folk music, the album is an eclectic collection of diverse world-music genres, ranging from cumbia to oriental music and electro punk or dark house music.It is also a manifesto in celebration of the colourfulness of underground world music, which attempts to break away from the norms and standards imposed by main stream Western music.The name of the album – ARIGATO AMIGO – refers to the international character of the BalkanBeats movement, and more directly to its worldwide parties and audiences, from Tokyo to Mexico City, two worlds here united through their love of the Balkan spirit.
