EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY
Explosions In The Sky are a phenomenon, having experienced the kind of meteoric rise in popularity that flies in the face of music industry convention. Their songs run well past a length suitable for radio play or commercial music videos; they chose not to move to a major label; and they have no vocalist. Yet within two weeks of going on sale, the band’s KOKO show in March next year had already sold out, the only ‘promotion’ being a posting on the band’s website. EITS’s last album, “The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place”, has now sold 25,000 copies in the UK and continues to sell steadily, 3 years since it’s release.
