Solsystemet (John & Fred) and Storm are the three cool cats (Coasters 1958) making up ‘Københavns Rytme og Blues Klub’ – a small old music oriented club founded years ago as a monthly gathering in the basement of the legendary (now closed) pub-club Saxon’s in Nørrebro. Currently we get together at Kødbyen’s Mesteren & Lærlingen or Jolene every second month to play our records, drink beer, smoke some cigarettes and dance. The music profile is R&B and other kinds of soulful music from the 50’s and 60’s and I think it was Storm who once rightfully pointed out that the best tracks contain a two-folded potential to make people dance and cry (not necessarily at the same time). We are all looking very much forward to play at the Soul Inn in Berlin with the top man Christian Göbel and we will make sure to bring many good records and some nice dance moves.

Die Soulinn wurde 2006 von Kristian Auth und Christian Göbel gegründet. Seitdem öffnet die ‘AT THE SOUL INN’ jeden ersten Samstag im Monat ihre Pforten im Lido! Allen Konventionen zum Trotz tanzen hier ‘Studis’ neben ‘Älteren Herrschaften’, ‘Touris’ neben ‘Alt-Kreuzbergern’ und ‘Soul-Nerds’. Für Abwechslung sorgen Live Bands, Gast DJ's und Plattensammler aus der ganzen Welt. Bei der Soul Inn geht es nicht ums Hip sein – es geht um die Musik und das Tanzen! Das musikalische Spektrum reicht vom 50ies und 60ies Rhythm & Blues, Early Soul, Northern Soul bis hin zum Deep Funk und Modern Soul. Checkt unseren Youtube Channel was alles so auf die Plattenteller kommt! Einschränkungen gibt es auf der Soulinn nicht, und so kann es sein, dass auch mal das ein oder andere Reggae- oder Ska Set gespielt wird. Nur eins ist wichtig: Es muss Soul haben und von der Original-Single kommen! CD’s, MP3’s, Laptops, Sampler und Bootlegs sucht man hier vergeblich. Die ersten 50 Gäste auf der Soulinn werden mit einer Promo CD belohnt. Solltet ihr es mal nicht früh genug schaffen, könnt ihr auf Mixcloud alle Mixe hören! Neben der musikalischen Darbietung schreit auch alles andere im Lido nach Soul. Hölzerner Tanzboden, Bilder, Projektion und Filme von Soul Künstlern runden das Bild ab.
