Magischer Crossover aus firrenden Balkan Bläsern und unwiderstehlichen Grooves. Al Jawala ist eine außergewöhnliche Live Band, die ihre pulsierende Energie direkt auf das Publikum überträgt. Spätestens wenn die fünf Musiker mitten im Konzert musizierend die Bühne verlassen um in der Menge abzutauchen gibt es kein Halten mehr. Ihr Genre? Balkan Big Beats, Oriental Voodoo, Tropical Gypsy, Balkan Trance oder einfach nur ein „tanzbarer Kulturschock“.
With the heat of their Gypsy-Saxophone-Bigbeat, the former street musicians are setting clubs and festivals all over Europe on fire. Al Jawala’s unmistakable Mash-Up sounds radically defy all boundaries of genre and purity. Loud, raw, energetic, and yet still full of lyric, they always play into the hearts of their audiences.
While filling the dance floors, Al Jawala continues to gain in musical depth and diversity. The virtuosic lines of the two saxophones lay the groundwork for the Al Jawala sounds. They are what drive both the audience and musician forward. East-European origins full of folklore are complimented not only by beats and electronic bass but also by Dub and Reggae elements to create a very unique and original mixture, a danceable culture shock that leaves no one unmoved!

▶︎ ROBERT SOKO – Ein balkanischer Proll ohne Maniere, Visum und geregelte Einkommensverhältnisse. Vom Schulabschluß ganz zu schweigen.
Mit damals in Bosnien für umgerechnet 100,- DM “gekauften” Führerschein, arbeitete er jahrelang als Taxifahrer auf Berliner Straßen.
Der „Taksista“ wechselte allmählich zum DJ Pult und wurde unter dem konspirativen Namen „BalkanBeats Godfather“ weltweit bekannt.
An diesem Samstag zieht er seine - extra für diesen DJ SET gepflegten - Klamotten an und spielt die besten BalkanBeats Tracks aller Zeiten.

▶︎ ROBERT SOKO – An unrefined bastard from the Balkans, with no visa or assets - not to mention any kind of education or manners.
Before leaving his homeland, he snapped a driving licence on the black market for a handful of Deutsche Marks. Once in Berlin, he unleashed his fury as an on-speed taxi driver.
At some point, Soko parked his taxi and entered a DJ booth and somehow became known around the globe as the "BalkanBeats Godfather".
He will get into his fanciest clothes for you this coming Saturday, and throw his grooviest tracks around, for a memorable party.
