AD INFINITUM
Ad Infinitum stands as a formidable force in the modern metal scene, with a sound that melds haunting melodies, crushing riffs, and dynamic storytelling. Formed in 2018 by the charismatic and versatile frontwoman Melissa Bonny, the band has rapidly risen through the ranks, carving out a distinct niche with their intense and evocative music. Ad Infinitum’s 2020 debut, “Chapter I: Monarchy,” announced their arrival with a thunderous roar, setting the stage for what would be an unstoppable ascent. This record was shortly followed by “Chapter II – Legacy” in 2021 and “Chapter III – Downfall” in 2023.
With their 4th album “Abyss”, the band further refined their identity, delivering an even more aggressive and sonically complex record that pushes the boundaries of modern metal. The powerful lineup— with Melissa Bonny’s limitless and versatile vocals, Adrian Thessenvitz’s intricate and masterly guitar work, Korbinian Benedict’s driving and powerful bass, and Niklas Müller’s thunderous and incisive drumming—creates a soundscape that is both grand and intimate, capturing the full spectrum of human emotion and experience.
Ad Infinitum continues to blaze their path with unrelenting passion and innovation, drawing fans deeper into their mesmerising, immersive world with every release. As rising stars of the new wave of modern metal, they remain committed to exploring new territories and shattering expectations with each powerful performance.
TULIP
Forged in the fire of excommunication, TULIP emerged in 2018 as the brainchild of former professional opera singer, Ashleigh Semkiw and long-time progressive/symphonic metal producer Colin Parrish. Drawing inspiration from its Calvinistic acronym namesake, the duo crafted the first TULIP EP within a concrete block industrial space turned makeshift studio. Soon after they added guitarist/bass player Cody Casillas and drummer Ryan Claxton; performing live in Fort Worth, TX in May of 2019.
TULIP’s music straddles genres but can most closely be described as modern, symphonic metal. Deep grooves and melodic hooks are underpinned with the dense harmonic texture of traditional orchestral arrangements and layered synths. Slamming drum mixes serve as the backbone of TULIP’s sound but move tastefully alongside guitars and bass, proving a canvas for Semkiw’s soaring, powerful vocals. Harsh vocals are peppered throughout as an accent.
TULIP has made significant progress in 5 years, despite a global pandemic that hampered European tour plans. The band remains independent and facilitates writing, recording, mixing, mastering and distribution of its music and accompanying video content entirely in-house. The band’s fanbase has had shown consistent growth through direct social media campaigns and DSP engagement since it’s inception.
TULIP is currently touring North America in support of nu-metal icons and fellow Texas transplants, Ill Nino. The band makes its first European and UK live debut in fall 2023.
